One day in studio (sounds a lot like one time at band camp) I assigned a modeling task to one of the new artist to model several pipe flanges, fittings and such. I decided to quickly model out a few of the items as well. I modeled then not really for practice, that time has passed for me, but rather to make a set of pre-canned Kit bash models. I also used it as a chance to try out the Keyshot renderer trial. I liked the results for a quick render.

Below are several passes for a quick model I was inspired to do way back when Michael Dunnam released the dragon brushes. I sit next to him so I agreed to sit down and test each brush in the process of making a dragon head concept. It was fun and I left it after the testing point.

This is an image I used in the Digital Tutors tutorial I made in 2012.  Just a simple space alien head to composite into imagery and light with a HDRI.

This bullet series I made shortly after I received a custom built .45 from Zombie arms I was pretty anamoured with the gun. Its still my favorite. It even has Kungfujackrabbit engraved in the slide! So I made this series for fun.

Another fun model I made when I first purchased my Charger. So yes that is my car. It looks a lot different now , but its still my favorite. I should remodel it some time, but its a lot of effort I could better place on other projects.

A wireframe from work I did on a feature film way back in the day. I hope to return to this type of work soon.

Way back in ZBrush 1 I made this model. I pulled every hair using the snake hook brush. Took about 15 hours. Had a great time and really loved working on this. Since then I found that I had “dropped the model” So it was only 2D. For all you old Zbrushers out there that remember when this was an issue you’ll understand. Sure wish I had kept it as a 3D model.

I loved this office space we had at Fearless Eye studio. It was an old butchering warehouse in downtown Kansas City. Great place, nice and creepy as I would work over night on the hard projects.

Comped this shot on Red camera footage. The aircraft I built over the top of a low res version. Fun project.

Robot design I had as a fun little side project. The fiery background shader was probably my favorite.
